Quiet, romantic, beautiful house near lots of fun attractions

Date of Stay

We very much enjoyed our stay at Tall Tree Retreat. We visited the outlet mall in Branson, explored Eureka Springs and hiked around the lake. The hot tub under the stars was an amazing experience. The last day six deer joined us for morning coffee. The young ones were literally kicking up their hooves. The house is in a very quiet cove and the deck has a beautiful view. The lake side area is very pretty but bring some sturdy shoes to handle the rocks and the hike back up the hill to the house. Lovely house and a wonderful, relaxing trip.

Secluded relaxation at Tall Tree Retreat

This home is exactly what we hoped for. The location was private and we found the home clean and accommodating. The lake front area was very nice and we spent much of our time there. We enjoyed fishing, swimming, and even hiked up the hillside. Communicated directly with the owners and they were very attentive to all our needs.

My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful and relaxing stay at the lovely Tall Tree Retreat. The property was immaculate upon our arrival and furnished with everything we needed (and more). It proved to be just what we were looking for; quiet seclusion, but with easy access to a lot of activities and entertainment.

We stayed at the Tall Tree Retreat for three nights and the house and surroundings could not have been better. The view was breathtaking. We would sit on the porch every morning and watch GOD's world come to life with birds, squirrels, deer and turkey in our front yard. Sometimes in the early night we even got to see shooting stars. Branson was only a hop, skip and jump away, which allowed us to go into the commercial world and then back to our secluded wonderful quite world. Thanks to Derek & Jennifer Patterson for sharing their world with us. This was a very relaxing mini vacation. Rush & Joy Hogue

Perfect Getaway Spot

526 Tall Tree Rd, Blue Eye, MO, 65611, United States (185145)

Date of Stay

The cabin was spotless when we arrived and we liked the no-key entry. Lovely view and a short walk through the woods took us to a rocky beach with picnic table and four chairs around a fire pit. We had a couple of minor issues while there and Derek and Jennifer were very quick to respond. The kitchen is pretty well-stocked and we cooked most of our meals while there - a good grocery is only about 20 mins. away. Branson isn't too far, if that's your thing. We visited the Butterfly Palace which is pretty cool, but stayed away from the rest of the madness. We can recommend Dogwood Canyon State park - great for easy hiking, bike rides or jeep tours off the main roads. The cabin is lovely, secluded and we will definitely be back.

Our family had a wonderful time. The yard was a great place to play catch. We all loved the fire pit and making s'mores. The lake was just a short walk and the hot tub was a great place to relax after spending the day in Branson. What a beautiful view from the house when relaxing or grilling out on the large deck. It is a very beautiful place with nature all around you. Thank you!

I'd like to thank Jennifer for working with me for the short stay that I needed for a weekend of family reunion. Traditionally, my family all stays together at my brother's lake home down the road, however, this year, the family members grew due to spouses and my brother's house would have been overcrowded. Fortunately, Tall Tree Cottage & Retreat was available for our overflow, which worked out perfectly due to the proximity of only a half mile distance. The facility provided everything we expected...large bathrooms, full kitchen, linens, easy access and even wifi. Of course, I love this part of Table Rock Lake, since I've been coming to this Blue Eye location since 2004. Boating, swimming, restaurants (both on lake and off) are easily accessible. We all love it here and definitely recommend this facility for others to experience. Be sure to visit and eat at the magnificent 'Top of the Rock' restaurant; especially the view at sunset. Great memories have been had. Thank and my best to the owners for sharing their home.

Our family enjoyed our stay at this secluded location. We were thrilled with the location. It was back in the woods, away from other travelers, and close to, but not right on the water, which was good with a two year old along! The notebook left for us included lots of helpful ideas for how to spend our visit, and we enjoyed being near enough to Branson to enjoy attractions and still able to savor nature. We were able to cook some of our meals in house in the nicely appointed kitchen and on the grill. There were videos to watch, books to read, games to play and the hot tub to enjoy. We were able to see some deer and other wildlife and the children enjoyed splashing in the lake and looking for shells to take home. We rented a boat at the Long Creek Bass Pro Marina for a reasonable price, enjoyed the amazing views at the new Top of the Rock attraction, saw a couple of shows, and hung out at Moonshine Beach ($4 - can't beat that!). If you are staying here, bring your own coffee and cooking ingredients, but if you forget, there is a nice convenience store just up the road, and we found a Price Chopper in Branson. Dishwasher worked great, fridge had a few condiments stocked, oven baked things perfectly, the washer and dryer were a great asset, and the spa tub upstairs was heavenly! We loved having the upstairs master suite to ourselves while the kids enjoyed their own space downstairs.

We were looking to get away to relax and recharge, but we only had one night to do it. A friend who knows how particular we are recommended this property to us, so our expectations were extremely high. The house was so secluded we weren’t sure we were in the right place until we saw a sign that directed us right to it. The curb appeal was incredible. When we opened the door and stepped inside, we were completely in awe! The view from the main floor was indescribable. There was a huge deck complete with a 4-chair round table and large umbrella, oversized gas grill and hot tub. The kitchen was complete with appliances and the cabinets were full of every kind of pot and pan and dishes of all sizes. There's a wonderful fireplace in the main room that we would have fired up had it been winter, but nevertheless, just looking at it gave us a warm feeling inside. There was a nice size bedroom and bath downstairs and the main room had a comfortable sofa and large screen television. When we looked upward from the main room, we caught our first glimpse of the loft. We scurried up the stairs to take a closer look and it was amazing to say the least. There's a hall that wraps around the loft with a chair and lamp to get lost in your favorite book. We also discovered a second bedroom with a comfy bed and private balcony! The bathroom was no disappointment with a large bubble tub to make the evening even more relaxing. We had a nice view of the lake and the house was just a short stroll to the water where we swam and cooled off from the burning rays of the sun. When evening came we cooked chicken on the grill, and for desert; we ignited the fire pit in the side yard to create the perfect desert for the lake....s’mores. We watched the sunset inside the hot tub as we gazed up at the stars. We had an amazing time. While we dreaded leaving the following morning, we traveled home refreshed. We're already planning our multiple night stay. We can't wait to return to this hidden treasure!

Did a girls weekend here in April. We had a great time, loved how it was close to the lake, with plenty of hiking options. The hot tub on the deck is great and has great lake views, but is small. It fit 3 average adult women okay, but wouldn't hold more. House is very tastefully decorated and has nice big bathrooms. The two decks are both great for early morning relaxing. I would highly recommend it.

Just want to start by saying communication with the homeowner was easy and the rental process was smooth as can be. Upon arrival your GPS may cut out, but just keep going on Tall Tree rd all the way to the Retreat, there are little signs to say "your almost there" which I liked....The house was clean and just as described, the photos do not do this place justice, it was much better. If you are looking for piece and quiet with no neighbors and great views then this place is for you. It's close enough to all the attractions in Branson, about 15 minutes it took me each day....My 11 year old loved the hot tub each night even though it was chilly out. The stars at night are the best I've ever seen in my life...Woke up one night in the wee hours and went outside on the deck and about 8 deer were in the front yard...Really cool. The view of Table Rock Lake was amazing, and a short walk across the street and down a little path and your right on the water fishing. There are chairs and a fire pit waiting for you by the lake.... Didn't catch anything because of the weather but if you need to catch a fish go to Dogwood Canyon in Lampe about 15 minutes away and you will catch Rainbow Trout, I caught 5 there....Can't say enough good things about this place and it's owners, it was a real getaway from our city life and we hope to come back next year! Thanks again Derek & Jennifer!

My wife, daughter, and I always take a family getaway during spring break which is also my daughter's birthday week. When she mentioned returning to Branson, I had nightmares of our last trip which was one week after a tornado ripped the area apart. There was nothing to do; the people were rude; and prices were outrageous. This trip was totally opposite and the centerpiece of the week was the retreat. I love seclusion and this fit the bill perfectly. Being a "country boy", I love the backwoods. When we left the paved road and went from gravel to snow/ice/dirt, I knew this was the perfect place. I'm glad we didn't come in my wife's car, it would have never made it up the hill. The house was just as it was described and very comfortable. We loved sitting on the deck drinking coffee in the mornings and watching a small heard of deer play a game of tag in the mornings. Even with a little snow on the ground, the trail to the lake was an easy walk with a beautiful view. We were able to drive to town (about 15-20 min.) and enjoy the shows, attractions, and shopping and still enjoy the hot tub and be totally relaxed for the next day. If the property were for sale, I would be the first in line to make an offer. We have stayed in a lot of cabins in a lot of places but this ranks as one of the very best. I have already recommended it to three of my friends.

We had a great time staying at the retreat house. I was nervous about getting to the house because of snow and ice. We didn't have any problems. If you have a small low car or if you are not familiar with driving in the snow than you might not of made it down the gravel road and back up the small hill. Parking and walking was not an option for us. Are stay was nice and relaxing. Most of all we loved the hot tub. We had our two kids with us (1 & 3). They had a great time too. We recommend the retreat. I'm sure it's wonderful in the summer but winter was just as nice. The special price for January & February is wonderful it's just the risk you take with the weather. You are in the woods but that is the best part.

My husband and I needed to just get away from reality and this was the perfect place, We have been to the Branson area several times and knew we could just relax and have fun. This cabin was perfect. It was extremely quiet and remote, yet so close to everything. The place was clean and the view was awesome! We sat in the hot tub and watched the planes and stars. The deck was perfect for just relaxing and sharing a bottle of wine. Even though we were there in January, it almost reached a sunny 60 degrees. The stroll down to the lake was short and easy to navigate and we enjoyed walking the shoreline. The only negative would be it is a little bit of a drive from the tourist spots, but we were not planning on doing much on this weekend trip, so it worked out perfectly for us. Definitely will consider renting this place again.

There were four of us staying at Tall Tree Retreat. The two bedrooms and baths were comfortable, clean and spacious. We were close to Branson and most restaurants. It is nice being close to the College of the Ozarks with the good restaurant at the conference center. The cottage is nicely furnished with a good kitchen. It had all the comforts of home and we would certainly recommend it to our friends and family. The owners are available and willling to answer any question about the property even those that seem so simple that the renters should have figured them out--like how to turn on the ceiling lights in the main room!! This cabin is a real find.

I had high hopes for this location for our recent anniversary getaway, but in the back of my mind I wondered if it could really be as nice as it appeared to be from the online reviews and info. This beautiful cabin on Table Rock Lake turned out to be "as advertised" and even more. The view of the lake was stunning, and the only sounds we heard besides birds and critters were an occasional distant boat motor on the lake. We were there for three nights and saw only one car come by the cabin. My wife was hoping to see some wildlife, and we weren't disappointed. We saw deer, squirrels, hummingbirds, various other birds, and even an owl late one night. There were three or four deer that came right into the yard at the same time each night, and we have a perfect vantage point to watch them from the second-floor deck. The cabin itself is very clean and well-furnished, with all the amenities and comforts of home. I'm not sure when it was built, but it looks almost brand-new. We especially enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub on the deck and enjoying the beautiful starry nights. From such a secluded spot, it's hard to believe that you can be in the middle of Branson inside of 30 minutes, but we enjoyed being able to run into town for a nice restaurant or show. It was the perfect place for being close to some "city" activities but also far enough out in the "country" to feel as if it were just the two of us. We are already thinking of when we might be able to come back and who we want to share our "secret" with. Thank you for giving us some great memories for our 25th anniversary trip!

This was one of the best places to stay because it had something for everyone! My husband and I were celebrating 20 years of marriage and 4 kids and wanted a true "retreat" from the norm. This was perfect! The home has so much to offer; jetted tub in upstairs bathroom, hot tub on deck, wonderful furnishings, the views were spectacular. I have to mention how comfortable the bed was. IT WAS AWESOME. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything we needed to prepare meals. We tried to take advantage of everything the retreat had to offer, even using the firepit outside. The highlight of the trip for my husband was walking to the lake several times a day to fish. The first night that we arrived, he went to "check things out" and caught a nice one on his first cast!! The place is very secluded, quiet with the exception of many nature sounds. We saw deer, birds, squirrels; so many things. As my husband was fishing one morning, a fawn was born close by. Nature may be out of the owner's control, but they provide the perfect location for the chance to experience it. We rented a fishing pontoon and went on the lake one afternoon and went to Silver Dollar City on another, but with the exception of those days, we spent the rest just hanging out at the retreat. Rest and relaxation!! We are so happy with the home we are thinking about coming back with the kids to make memories on the lake with them. Thanks for a wonderful stay and for taking pride in your rental home so there would be no surprises or worries for us.

We enjoyed everything the house and location had to offer! Our 8 yr old son brought a friend and there were rave reviews for the lake access, firepit, hot tub and Monopoly. It was great to spend time at the lake watching the boys search for bugs and build "canals" on the edge of the water. We spent a lot of time on the deck and enjoyed dinner outside. There is lots of wildlife and we saw a turkey, deer and lots of squirrels. We will definitely be back and really like the idea of renting both the Retreat and the Cottage with our friends. Thanks Derek and Jennifer for a providing this family a much needed getaway in a fantastic location.

GREAT PLACE! We are SO glad we didn't do a condo or resort! The pictures don't do this retreat justice - you are surrounded by peaceful woods, have a beautiful view of the lake and still have all of the comforts of home (AC, hot tub, grill, clean bathrooms, working kitchen/coffee pot/fridge/etc)! It was really nice to feel secluded but have access to all of the activities of Branson. We went zip lining, did the duck tour (kids got to drive when we went into the water), had great geo-caching adventures (there are MANY hidden treasures) and hiked around the lake. We were too tired to hit any shows but there were a few that seemed really funny. Around the home, my boys loved soaking in the hot tub, sitting around the campfire (s'mores!), walking down to the lake to skip rocks, going fishing and exploring.

We weren't able to go to the Titanic because of the tornado, but it gives us an excuse to come back. Our weather was exceptional. The kids loved the hot tub. The only animal we saw was the bald eagle a couple of days. We brought hot chocolate to drink in the evening, but we are bringing it all home along with a sunburn!

Arrived and felt right at home. Enjoyed the wild turkeys. Saw the white one too! Also saw a whole family of deer...beautiful! love the privacy, yet so close to things to do. Purchased a hand made rug from a lady at the corner. She has beautiful pot holders ad candles too. Went horseback riding, fishing and explored a cave. Thanks you Derek and Jennifer for sharing!

Absolutely loved the Retreat and surrounding area. Extremely relaxing stay and very comfortable place to stay and recover our sanity from long hours working. Best vacation we have had in many years and appreciate you sharing such a fantastic hide away. Really enjoyed the views of the lake and swimming in it was a pleasure. Will hopefully come back this way when we retire and enjoy this beautiful Retreat!

We had a great stay at Tall Tree Retreat. Enjoyed the spaciousness, all the amenities and the seclusion. We rented a boat from Gage's - very friendly and helpful. Got lucky and had a very quiet day on the lake with hardly any other traffic. Went to Titanic museum, a bit overpriced. Did Ride the Ducks and saw Pierce Arrow (great show!). Loved sitting in hot tub, relaxing and spending time together. Really appreciated great communication prior to our arrival. Made us feel secure and re-assured in our plans! We'd love to come again, maybe with family. It's be great to coordinate a stay at the Cottage as well! Thanks again! Marshalltown, IA

Wow! What a fantastic get away! Absolutely loved the cabin and the proximity to the lake and everything. We rented a boat for 2 days from Gages Long Creek Marina, we tubed for 2 days and the girls had a blast! Directly across from Gage's is a cliff with ropes for swinging into the lake - spent hours there. We also rented SCUBA gear from Scubasports and State Park. Diving was great even right off the Tall Tree lake shore. Saw lots of fish, turtles etc. The girls loved staying here and having dinner and breakfast on the deck sitting in the hot tub and counting the stars. We also had a fantastic firefly hunt, except we caught more ticks than we did fireflies!! Saw 2 deer, fox, hummingbirds, turtles, fish and 3 happy daughters. One morning, there was a deer drinking by the lakeside - of course I didn't have my camera with me! We loved the place so much, very clean, very nicely decorated - country yet not gaudy like so many other Branson cabins. Today we are checking out and heading to Reed Springs for the zip line. We miss our home away from home already! Thanks so much for a wonderful vacation!

Thank you so much for the use of your beautiful cabin. It was the perfect retreat that we all desperately needed. Our favorite part was ending our long sunshine filled days with some quality time in the hot tub. We felt right at home grilling on the deck and waving to the neighbors as they pass. Great environment and neighborhood. We will definitely be back and recommend to others! Fayetteville, AR

What an amazing place of peace and serenity. The cottage is absolutely beautifully built and beautifully furnished. My weekend was simply enchanting. I loved watching the deers at dusk. A few of them came around while sitting around the campfire. You thought of everything ... even the wildlife! :)

Truely Awesome ! From the very first moment that we walked in... We feel right at home! The inside, outside and the view are just beautiful! Sitting out on the deck at night - sharing stories, reliving memories and making new ones - were just what we sisters needed ! We were excited to see a red fox, deer and squirrels. We had many different birds visit us and were totally entertained with their beautiful songs. We will feel confident in telling others about your homes! Hope to one day return for another stay! Thanks again for everything and may God bless you all !

We couldn't have been happier with our stay at the Tall Tree Retreat. The cabin was furnished beautifully and we had everything we needed -- even cling wrap to cover our leftovers! ** We'd initially wanted to book the Tall Tree Cottage because it's advertised as "lakefront," but it was booked, so we chose the Retreat instead. We're SO glad we stayed at the Retreat! The views are incredible. Plus, we were delighted to discover it took us only 2-3 minutes to walk from our cabin's front door to the edge of Table Rock Lake! Our girls (ages 9 and 6) had a fabulous time, and so did we. Took them to Silver Dollar City one day, yet still had time to cook out that evening and then take a relaxing soak in the hot tub. I highly recommend the Retreat.

We really enjoyed staying in your lovely home. The views are beautiful. We enjoyed the peace and quiet and the time together as a family. The kids had a blast. The boys spent a dayout on the lake fishing and the girls spent the day shopping at Branson Landing. The kids spent a lot of time walking down to the lake and feeding a duck that came up to the shore. The house was just perfect and equipped with everything we needed. Thank you !

Thank you for building such a wonderful "retreat" on the lake. This was our 1st trip to Branson - we live in the VA Beach area . Deer report: Thursday morning 8 to 10 am in front yard; Saturday morning - 2 does and one buck on the grass. Show report: Andy Williams, Tony Orlando, Bobby Vinton. All were just excellent and very enjoyable. We spent one day at Silver Dollar City and that was great too -- a lot different from our Busch Gardens in VA. Again, thanks for a great place to stay - we'll be back!

We enjoyed our stay very much. It was peaceful and relaxing. The time flew by, so we did not do as much as we wanted. The cabin was as advertised. We would definitely visit again and recommend to others. We did a few shows in Branson (Legends, Piece Arrow, Kirby) all were fun. Also visited Eureka Springs "The Passion Play". Did a little fishing. Just had a good time. My wife loved the cabin decorations and design. Also, all was fully stocked. Nice to see a town where GOD is still recognized.
